mac to windows without losing music in the format

Hi

I used a Mac to previous sync ipod. Im now using windows and have music that only exists on the iPod. Is there any way for me to get the music off before I have to format for Windows? Or is there another way to get my iPod to work on Windows without having to restore to factory settings.
